Two villagers go mad when they encounter the scarecrow in the field. Gradually others start to worship the scarecrow till the driver decides to destroy it in order to put an end to the panic.
Bahman Farmanara graduated from the University of Southern California with a BA in Cinema in 1966. After establishing a distribution company in Canada, in 80s he went back to Iran and started producing and directing his own films.
He has produced numerous successful films such as Abbas Kiarostami’s first feature, The Report (1977), Dariush Meherjui’s The Cycle (1977) and Valerio Zurlini’s The Desert of the Tartars (1977 co-production with Italy and France). He directed and starred in Fragrance of Jasmine in 2000, which won several prizes internationally for him.
